Translators without Borders is a non-profit organisation which links translators from around the world to humanitarian organisations such as Unicef and UNHCR. In crisis situations it is essential that humanitarian organisations are able to communicate with the local population in their own language. TWB makes this a reality. TWB’s mission is to support humanitarian work around the word by providing translations to aid organisations who are at the forefront of the response.
Concorde Group BV supports Translators without Borders and both organisations emphasise the immense importance of language. After all, it is how people communicate, connect, and most important of all: knowledge and ideas are shared through language. Language is the key that makes information accessible for all and the only way to achieve this effectively, especially during times of crisis, is by communicating with people in their own language.
Raymond de Groot: ‘I am very proud that we are able to help an organisation such as Translators without Borders in achieving its objectives.’
Lori Thicke (Founder of Translators without Borders): “Whether we are working in crisis relief, global health issues or poverty reduction in the developing world, one thing is clear: language is critical. The generous donation by the Concorde Group will help Translators without Borders do more to make sure people do not suffer needlessly and even die for lack of information in their language.”
Aimee Ansari (executive Director of Translators without Borders): ‘We are grateful to Concorde for their continued support to Translators without Borders. Without their support and the support of our other sponsors and volunteers, Translators without Borders could not provide life-saving content. In Lesvos last week, I saw refugees fleeing wars in Syria and Iraq grateful for our Words of Relief project translations. We help them to find dignity and protection through information in their language.’
